The Covenant school in Charlottesville has three new head coaches for the upcoming school year and they were introduced to the Covenant students and parents Tuesday.
Rock Watson is the new girls basketball coach. Watson played basketball at the University of North Texas and later joined the Army and played for their post team.
Watson said, "A change of culture to the Covenant schools Varsity girls basketball. What I mean by change of culture is just the understanding of what it takes to win, what it takes to be successful."
Annie Crumbs is the new field hockey coach. Crumbs played field hockey at Davidson in North Carolina - and just graduated in the spring of 2013.
"Create this family this sisterhood and that's really what I want them to go home with everyday after practice is knowing that this group of girls - this team - they have their back," said Crumbs.
Jeff Burton replaces Doug Smethurst as Covenant's new baseball coach. He played for the UVa 20 years ago and hopes to have current players assist him.
Burton said, "I've always used baseball as a way to help raise kids and teach kids values and that's core to everything Covenant does around here. I was looking for a high school job, Covenant came to me and said we want you to bring what you've brought to baseball in Charlottesville to this school and it was an easy sell."
