The Redskins defense suffered a major blow Friday.
Defensive end Jarvis Jenkins has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's performance enhancing drug policy.
Jenkins says he was "Shocked and confused" when he learned he had tested positive for a banned drug he'd never heard of.
"Kind of an odd supplement that is banned but obviously it's just something that happened," says Jenkins. "I apologize. I thought I was going to get off on it, but the NFL has strict rules."
Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan says, "Something can't help you as much as it can hurt you and in terms of losing four games out of a 16 game season, you gotta be smart, and you have to check with the right people to make sure you're putting the right things in your body."
