Cville Group Marches to Promote Art in the Community

Posted: Updated:

A group in Charlottesville is finding creative ways to promote art.

The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative "stormed" the bridge Friday.  The group marched through Charlottesville led by fife and drum, ending up at its office.

The French Revolution-inspired project, "Storm the Bridge," is all about bringing art into the community.

"We're making a statement in the fact that we want art to have an impact on the community so the term ‘art revolution' - we're really focusing on how art can play a role in Charlottesville and be a part of what's going on in the community," said Matthew Slaats, executive director of The Bridge.

The Bridge is also in the process of another project that maps the city.
