Police Seek Information on Charlottesville Stabbing

The Charlottesville Police Department needs your assistance regarding a stabbing that occurred on July 20th, 2013 shortly after midnight in the 200 block of 3rd Street NE. 

Based on eyewitness accounts, the victim heard what sounded like a female in distress and attempted to check on her welfare.  In doing so, he encountered a black male and female obviously involved in a dispute. 

The victim inquired if the female needed help and was suddenly stabbed by the male without provocation.  The unknown male and female then left the area in a light colored minivan. 

The victim, an active member of the United States Army Reserves, was treated for serious injuries but has since been released from the University of Virginia Hospital. 

The condition of the female, who the victim was going to aid, is still unknown.
