The clinic teaches field hockey to first-timers. Along with skills of the game, they build discipline, sportsmanship and focus.
Mary Rockwell, 16, is coaching the group.
"I think they're going to have a new opportunity to love a sport. I think they've gained some role models," said Rockwell.
Rockwell says even though she is their coach, she has learned more than the girls - like being grateful, patient, and enthusiastic. Rockwell says those traits are transferable to any sport or situation in life.
Friday marked the last official field hockey clinic for the time being, but Rockwell says she intends to coach more of them.
