RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - State and local authorities are investigating threatening emails sent to Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
Search warrants obtained by NBC4 Washington Thursday reveal the sender of the emails threatened the Republican candidate for governor and his family.
The email was sent through Cuccinelli's campaign website. The campaign reported it to Virginia State Police.
One profanity-filled message ends by warning Cuccinelli that if he runs for Congress he would be killed.
Cuccinelli tells the TV station he takes any threat to his children seriously.
Investigators traced the IP address attached to the email to a Michigan home, where they questioned the residents. State police say no arrests have been made.
