Professional bike racer Ben King, who grew up living and riding in Albemarle County, is giving something back to young riders.

King, 24, is spent Thursday evening with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club in Charlottesville. The Albemarle native shared his cycling experiences and the lessons they've taught him with the kids in his hometown.

King has competed in international races - including the Tour de France. He says he wants to share how racing internationally has helped guide him to where he is today.

"I think it's great to have these kids getting involved in this sport. So much can come out of it, and to learn so many lessons - you can't help it because its a hard sport," said King.

The 2013 Boys and Girls Club Challenge Cycling Team was also at the Boys & Girls Club. The young group has been training all summer for the big race in Crozet in September.
