Phillip Seay Kicks Off Campaign for Albemarle BOS Seat
The independent candidate running for a seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors officially kicked off his campaign Wednesday. Phillip Seay is seeking to represent the Jack Jouett District.
Seay is a former law enforcement officer and teacher. He is also the director of the First Tee program in Charlottesville.
"A politician pays attention to people that will only vote for them. I'm an everyman. I'm coming out of nowhere. You can tell by the money that I've raised so far, this is going to be a stretch. And I still believe that a guy like me or anyone out there can get into local politics and maybe make a difference," said Seay.
Seay says one of his main concerns is making sure money that comes to school districts goes directly to the classroom.
