Susan Allen, former first lady of Virginia, signs a copy of "The Remarkable Ronald Reagan: Cowboy and Commander in Chief"
A former first lady of Virginia is teaching children about President Ronald Reagan in a new book.
Saturday at Charlottesville's Barnes & Noble store, Susan Allen signed copies of her children's book "The Remarkable Ronald Reagan: Cowboy and Commander in Chief."
Allen encouraged children and adults to be remarkable like Reagan.
"He did do a lot of remarkable things as president, not just changing America but changing the whole world but the story really is about how he grew up in a small town in Illinois, he had big dreams, he worked really hard and achieved all of his goals," Allen said. "And I think young people today need heroes and they need to know that they can work hard and dream and become what they want to be."
The book is designed for fun reading as well as school book reports. It includes fast facts, quotes and a timeline.
