Classic Antique Car Rodeo Games Held in Waynesboro
In Waynesboro, drivers got to show off some skills behind some unique sets of wheels. Thursday, hundreds participated in the Classic Antique Car Rodeo Games, part of the week-long Willys-Overton-Knight Registry Conference.
The event brought in people from all over America and the world who share an appreciation for vintage cars. They came up with some interesting activities for these antiques. Some drivers blind-folded themselves and then the passenger directed them through an obstacle course. The goal was to roll through as many balloons as possible.
Fifty cars were in Waynesboro for this event.
The organizer said the city really made an impression on her and her family.
"My husband and I, we're from Northern Virginia, and we fell in love with this area, and ended up moving here about three weeks ago, so you gained a couple of new residents just by being such a wonderful, wonderful place to be," said Rebecca Perron, organizer.
The event takes place in a new location each year. Next year it will be in Washington State.
The week-long conference ends Thursday with a banquet and awards ceremony.
