Everyone matters - that is the message children heard Thursday morning at Burley Middle School in Albemarle County. The 'Thinkshop' event's goal is to empower children and motivate them to help others.
Motivational speaker Alex-Zan says the timing of this interactive workshop couldn't be better - especially after Saturday's acquittal of George Zimmerman.
"With the backdrop of Trayvon Martin, I'm sure it's on some young people's minds - does all people really matter or does certain people matter?" said Alex-Zan.
The hope is when people leave, there is less bickering between them. Alex-Zan says the children are given tools so they can begin helping one another.
More workshops are scheduled within the next few weeks.
