Writers Group Hosts Reading of Blue Ridge Anthology Contributors
Playwriting workshops, panel discussions and readings of all kinds - these are the things that SWAG enjoys.
SWAG is the Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta Group of writers. Cliff Garstang, a twice-published writer, formed SWAG to raise the profile of the literary arts in the valley.
Wednesday night, the group hosted contributors to the Blue Ridge Anthology 2013 for a reading of some of their work.
Three years after its founding, SWAG is 160 members strong and the writers run the gamut.
"From hobbyists to amateurs who've done a little bit of writing to more professional writers who have published multiple books, we're just trying to bring everybody together so that we can all find our own audiences," said founder Cliff Garstang.
On the second Wednesday of the month SWAG hosts an open mic night, where all writers are welcome.
