Virginia Tech senior quarterback Logan Thomas is on the preseason watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award, which is given out each season to the top QB in the nation.

Thomas is on the O'Brien watch list for the second year in a row.

He previously made the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is given out to the best player in the country.

Thomas passed for 2,976 yards last season, with eighteen touchdowns against sixteen interceptions.

The 6-foot-6, 257-pound QB also led the Hokies in rushing, with 524 yards and nine touchdowns.

Four of the thirty-four quarterbacks on the O'Brien watch list hail from the ACC, with Thomas, Tajh Boyd (Clemson), Stephen Morris (Miami), and Brynn Renner (UNC).

Virginia Tech will open the season August 31st against two-time defending national champion Alabama in Atlanta.
