City Council Exploring Options for Meade Avenue Trail Project
Charlottesville City Council explored options Monday night to resolve an ongoing issue with the Meade Avenue Trail project.
The owners of Beer Run and the Meade Carlton Center are concerned the project will negatively impact their business. The project includes a sidewalk expansion that would eliminate nearly 30 parking spaces -- and according to them -- business.
The options proposed are a compromise for both the project and business owners.
"We sincerely appreciate the time and the effort put into researching the different possibilities. Businesses of the Center are delighted to see that the proposal includes moving the construction of the trail to spring 2014," John Woodruff, co-owner of Beer Run, said.
Another option also includes pulling parking from other places near the Meade Carlton Center.
