Cville to Open Cooling Centers to Combat Extreme Heat

Posted: Updated:

With temperatures expected near and above 90 degrees this week, you may be looking for a place to keep cool.

Charlottesville will have two cooling centers open this week. The Herman Key Recreation Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the Tonsler Park Recreation Center will be open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Experts advise people to check on their neighbors during the summer heat, especially the elderly and young children.
