The next Sunday Sundowns will be at Washington Park on August 11.
The sun came out just in time for a popular summer celebration in Charlottesville. Sunday afternoon, Charlottesville Parks and Recreation hosted its second Sunday Sundowns of the season at Washington Park.
The event featured free swimming, free food and live music.
The pool was almost packed to capacity after just the first half hour. Organizers say more than 300 people came out for some fun in the sun.
"It's just a way to get people out here, show them a little bit about what we have, get people out to the pool who might not normally come out for something like this, meet other people, just socialize a little bit and just have a great time," said Cville Aquatics Manager Bob Manners.
The event was made possible by Bama Works, the Leroi Moore fund, a Helping Hand Club, and the Local Food Hub.
If you missed this Sunday's celebration, the next Sunday Sundowns will be at Washington Park on August 11.
