Chesterfield Man Arrested for Making Threats at Cub Scout Camp

Goochland sheriff's deputies have arrested a Chesterfield man on Disorderly Conduct charges after the man threatened to "start shooting people" during an argument with camp staff.
Deputies responded to the Cub Scout Camp at the Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation on Maidens Road in Goochland shortly after 8 pm when camp authorities called to report that a man on the property had threatened to shoot people on the grounds. Responding deputies found multiple witnesses who confirmed that the man made numerous threats to shoot people after he became upset over the distribution of meal tickets for attending campers, adult supervisors, and parents.
Deputies arrested Gregory James Stapleton, 34, of the 9800 block of Chanelka Lane in Chesterfield. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct and one misdemeanor count of Curse and Abuse. He was placed under a $3,000.00 secured bond by the magistrate and transported to Henrico Jail.
