Planning Commission to Discuss Meadowbrook Flats Concerns

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE:According to the Charlottesville Planning Commission's official website, their scheduled meeting for Wednesday night has been canceled. No rescheduled date has been set.

Plans for Meadowbrook Flats apartments in Charlottesville have neighbors upset about potential traffic. After being delayed from past agendas, the Charlottesville Planning Commission is expected to address some of those concerns during its meeting Tuesday night.

The complex is being planned near the intersection of Barracks Road and Emmett Street.

Originally, Pinnacle Construction was planning to replace the shopping center with a five story retail complex - but neighbors expressed concerns about increased traffic in the area. In response, plans are being scaled back and now the developer says the project will include a single, 73-unit apartment building.

Tuesday's meeting takes place in City Council chambers at 5:30 p.m.
