VA to Hold Public Hearings on Wild Turkey Management

VERONA, Va. (AP) - Six public hearings on Virginia's new wild turkey management plan are scheduled around the state this month.

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries says the first meeting will be held July 16 at Wytheville Community College.

Other meetings are scheduled July 17 in Bedford, July 18 in Verona, July 29 in Fredericksburg, July 30 in Hampton and July 31 at the department's headquarters in Richmond.

The department expects to release the draft plan on or about July 12.
