Police Identify Virginia Man Who Drowned in River in W. Va.

SHANNONDALE, W.Va. (AP) - Police have identified a Virginia man who drowned in the Shenandoah River in West Virginia.

Police say 30-year-old Josue D. Zuniga-Menendez of Frederick County, Va., stepped off a rock ledge into the water, surface and then disappeared.

Media outlets report that the accident occurred on the Fourth of July in the Shannondale Springs Wildlife Management Area in Jefferson County.

Searchers recovered the victim's body Friday afternoon.
