From growing Augusta County's economy to promoting the Shenandoah Valley, Dennis Burnett is extending his reach.
Augusta's economic development director is assuming a new job title September 1. The role is executive director for the Shenandoah Valley Partnership. Robin Sullenberger announced his retirement from the position in the spring, after 13 years.
Burnett says the transition couldn't be better.
"It's the best-case scenario for me because I'm very passionate about Augusta County and very passionate about the valley. So it's totally within the job description to assist the localities in their efforts. So if there's questions, projects - I'm right there," Burnett said.
The partnership is a resource for businesses in the Shenandoah Valley. It includes 12 localities.
