July 4th Celebrations throughout Central Virginia

There are plenty of events taking place throughout central Virginia on Thursday, July 4. For a list of some of the many ways you can celebrate Independence Day, see below:  

Crozet's Independence Day Parade & Celebration – July 6, parade at 4 p.m., festivities from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. after the parade. Balloon rides, live music, food, crafts and an antique car show. Click here for more information.

Charlottesville's Patriotism in the Park – July 4, gates open at 6 p.m. Family-friendly event with food, music, games, and a fireworks display. For more information, click here.

Earlysville Fourth of July Parade – The annual parade begins at 1 p.m. on July 4. The parade begins at the Earlysville Post Office and ends at the Union Church.

Independence Day at Graves  Mountain – July 4 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Graves Mountain Lodge in Madison County.

Independence Day 5K Run- July 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Forrest Lakes North. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Track Club. Benefits Camp Holiday Trails. For more information, click here.

Lake Monticello Spirit Run – July 4 at 7 a.m. at Bunker Park. Late registration deadline is 6:15 a.m. on July 4. For more information, click here.

Louisa Fireman's Parade – July 4  at 7 p.m. Free of charge. For more information, click here.

Naturalization Ceremony - July 4 at Monticello. Dave Matthews of the Dave Matthews Band will speak. Tickets are currently sold out. Begins at 9 a.m. For a live stream of the speech and event, click here. 

Nelson County Fourth of July Bike Parade- July 4 on Front Street and Main Street in Lovingston.  10 .m. signup, 11 a.m. parade. Free of charge. Click here for more information.

Scottsville 4th of July Celebration - July 4, fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Free of charge. For more information, click here. 

Standardsville Fourth of July Parade – July 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parade goes down Main Street and ends with a patriotic program and a reading of the Declaration of Independence. For more information, click here.

Wintergreen 4th of July Jubilee -  From July 1 - 7 p.m. at Wintergreen Resort. Craft fair to take place July 4 and 5. All ages welcome. For more information, click here.

Valley Fourth - July 4, 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. in downtown Harrisonburg. Activities include puppet shows for kids and "Beers N' Cheers" for adults. Click here for more information.
