Waynesboro Police Department
The Waynesboro Police Department is requesting information on the whereabouts of a Waynesboro man wanted for slashing another man's throat in late June.
Eric Duane Fisher, 39 years old, is wanted on one count of malicious wounding. On June 23 at approximately 3:00 AM, officers responded to the 100 block of S Delphine Ave where they found a 31 year old victim with a gaping four inch cut to the left of his neck that continued to his Adam's Apple. The victim was airlifted to UVA Medical Center for treatment and was released the next day.
The investigation into the assault has determined that Fisher and the victim are acquaintances who got into an alcohol fueled altercation that resulted in Fisher cutting the victim's throat with a knife. Initially, both the victim and Fisher gave detectives misleading accounts of the incident. Fisher is also wanted by the Augusta County Sheriff's Department for probation violations in addition to being a convicted sex offender.
If anyone has information concerning her whereabouts, please contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 942-6675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-2017.
