CHARLOTTESVILLE REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT TIMOTHY HULBERT ELECTED PRESIDENT OF VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EXECUTIVES
(Charlottesville, Virginia – July 2) Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce President & chief executive Timothy Hulbert was elected President of the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Board of Directors at the VACCE 2013 Annual Meeting held at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Virginia last week.
The Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives is the premier association for leadership and organizational development of Chambers of Commerce in Virginia. Mr. Hulbert has served on the VACCE Board of Directors since 2003. (The VACCE President also is a member of the Virginia Chamber Board.) In 2006, Mr. Hulbert received VACCE's "Virginia Chamber Executive of the Year Award." In 2011, Mr. Hulbert received his membership at Villanova University, in the Institute for Organization Management, the premier professional organization management program and institute in the nation, administered and governed by the United States Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Hulbert has been Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce President and chief executive since March 2001. Prior to his current office, for 12 years he served as President and chief executive of the Rensselaer County (NY) Regional Chamber of Commerce and Rensselaer Gateway Development Corporation. Before his career as a Chamber executive, Mr. Hulbert served on the executive staff of two New York State Transportation Commissioners, James Larocca and Franklin White, in the administration of Governor Mario M. Cuomo. In the 1970's, his public service also included service on the executive staff of New York State Energy Commissioner James Larocca in the administration of Governor Hugh L. Carey and as a Special Assistant to United States Congressman Ned Pattison. In business Mr. Hulbert was a financial services consultant and manager with Equitable. He also worked as a professional communications and marketing consultant with Envision Communications.
Mr. Hulbert grew up in Greene County in Upstate New York. He is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany and Manhattan College (BA – Government).
Mr. Hulbert, his wife Bonnie Farone, a Physicians Liaison with the University of Virginia Health System, and their 17-year old daughter Moira live in Charlottesville. He also has three adult sons. Daniel is pursuing a professional career in New York as a lyricist and recording artist; Sean is a Chemical Engineer (BS – Manhattan College) with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection; and, Michael (BA – University at Albany) is a customer service representative with Tiger Fuel, an oil/gas firm in Charlottesville.
