Staunton Man Pleads Guilty to Malicious Wounding, Kidnapping

Posted: Updated:

A Staunton man confessed to attacking a woman. Brandon Neal Jones, 26, of Verona pleaded guilty to malicious wounding and kidnapping.

Other charges - including rape, object penetration and breaking and entering - were dropped.

Investigators say Jones forced his way into a home on West Beverly Street in October of 2012 and attacked a woman.

Jones looked down at the ground and shook his head before pleading guilty in Staunton Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

Jones will spend four years behind bars. He will then be on supervised probation for six years after his release and cannot have any contact with the victim.
