Huja, Other Mayors Urge Congress to Shift Spending
Mayors from Charlottesville and cities across the country are calling on Congress to spend less money on military matters.
Charlottesville Mayor Satyendra Huja and City Council signed on to the resolution from the U.S. Conference of Mayors in January. The conference officially passed the resolution at its meeting in Las Vegas Monday.
Thirty mayors signed on, asking Congress to shift funds from the military to peaceful social programs here at home.
