Man Involved in Charlottesville Police Chase Pleads Guilty

A man who led police on a wild chase through Charlottesville in April could face up to 126 years and nine months in prison.

Marcell Turner, 26, pleaded guilty Monday morning to seven felonies and two misdemeanors, including charges for malicious wounding, eluding police, and cocaine distribution.

Police arrested Turner April 3 following a car chase where he rammed two unmarked police cars and injured an officer. 

Sentencing is set for September 24.

Felonies:

  •      Probation violation
  •      Malicious wounding (x2)
  •      Cocaine distribution (x2)
  •      Failure to stop at the scene of an accident
  •      Eluding police

Misdemeanors

  •      Assault and battery (x2)
