Braves & Generals Both Fall In VBL

The Staunton Braves lost 10-2 Saturday at home against Aldie in the Valley Baseball League.

Bryant Hayman drove in James Vasquez and Blake Sipe in the bottom of the first inning for the Braves only runs of the game.

Waynesboro fell 6-1 at home against Charles Town.

The Generals had just three hits in the game.

Former STAB pitcher David Spinosa came on in relief in the 8th inning, and retired the only batter he faced.

Harrisonburg won its sixth game in a row, as the Turks won 6-3 on the road at Woodstock.  

Thomas Spitz went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.  

With the win, Harrisonburg moves a half-game in front of Staunton for first place in the South Division.
