Posted: Updated:

Virginia sophomore attacker Casey Bocklet has been named the women's lacrosse State Player of the Year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.

UVa's Julie Myers took the honor of Coach of the Year.

Bocklet scored 44 goals and dished out 23 assists in her first season with the Cavaliers.

The Northwestern transfer was previously named third-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Megan Dunleavy, Morgan Stephens, and Courtney Swan join Bocklet on the VaSID first team.

Myers is in her 18th season as the Cavaliers' head coach, and led her team to its 18th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

Virginia lost to eventual national champion North Carolina in the NCAA quarterfinals.
