Three days after a home invasion on Shelby Drive, Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo says neighbors should not be concerned for their safety.
He says the home invasion was not a random act. There are few details right now from police, as they continue to search for the two men who pushed their way into the home, robbed the home and shot a 24-year-old man inside.
Police say it will be a while before any other information is released, and that investigators are now waiting on the state crime lab to process the forensic evidence.
"I apologize that we've had to be so tight-lipped over the past couple days as we've worked through this investigation. I will say at this point we don't have any reason to believe at this point based on the facts we know do we have any reason to believe that this was a random acts of violence," Longo said.
There has been no word as to what was taken from the home, but family members say the shooting victim is recovering.
