Waynesboro Woman Arrested on Welfare Fraud Charges

The Waynesboro Police Department has arrested a Waynesboro woman on numerous charges of welfare fraud and other related offenses stemming from an investigation conducted by the Fraud Investigations Division of the Department of Social Services.

Officers arrested Betty Jo Brackenridge, 40 years old, at her residence on June 19. She is charged with five counts of welfare fraud and six counts of making fraudulent statements to obtain public assistance. All of the charges are class 5 felonies.

The offense dates go back to 2008 and continue through 2011. After her arrest, she was released on a personal recognizance bond.
