“Strong Kids, Strong Virginia” Advocates for State’s Youth

Posted: Updated:

The November elections are now less than five months away. And this week, the Strong Kids, Strong Virginia campaign is kicking off across the state, highlighting issues affecting Virginia's youth.

Supporters launched a regional push on Charlottesville's downtown mall Wednesday afternoon, calling on the candidates for governor and other offices to focus on issues facing young Virginians.

"So our focus is really to make sure that kids' issues get spotlighted during the 2013 election. We know that kids and families are struggling right now, and we really want to make them a priority in all of the elections," said Mandy Wrinkle, director of Strong Kids Strong Virginia.

The campaign will focus on issues like early childhood education, child hunger, poverty, and abuse. For more information on the campaign, click here.
