A young woman from Lyndhurst is dead Saturday after being struck by a train in Augusta County.
It happened just after 5:30 p.m. off South Oak Lane in Lyndhurst.
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office confirms the 19-year-old woman was fishing off a trestle with a young man when they heard the Norfolk Southern train.
The man was able to get off the tracks, but as the woman ran across the trestle, she slipped and fell a few feet from the end, where the train hit and killed her.
Investigators are not releasing her name at this time.
