Radio control airplane pilots in Fluvanna County are hosting an open fly-in this weekend. Airplanes and helicopters of all different shapes and sizes are taking to the skies during the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club's Father's Day Extravaganza

It's a chance for pilots of all ages and experience levels to come together and learn from each other.

"That's the beauty of being part of a club like this. There's many experienced people who've had all the problems you had when you're learning and they can help you learn to become a better flyer and a better builder," said Bill Sykes, member of the Fluvanna County Radio Control Flying Club.

The extravaganza is open to everyone - whether you're a pilot or a spectator. The planes will be zooming around Sunday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the flying club's field next to the landfill on West River Road.
