Cville Four Miler Training Program Kicks Off Saturday
Women register for the Four Miler Training Program
Hundreds of women and girls are lacing up for the 20th Annual Charlottesville Four Miler Training Program. Program organizers and volunteers camped out at the ACAC facility in Albemarle Square Friday for early packet pickup and registration.
Runners will kick off the 11-week fitness regimen Saturday morning.
There are different levels of training, with the ultimate goal of getting active and being healthy.
"The biggest questions I get are 'Do I have to run four miles?' No, this is actually meant for people who are just coming out the couch. This is meant for people just coming out the door. That's actually what we say, the biggest thing you can do tomorrow is walk out the door," said Pam Whorley, training program director.
The group will meet every Saturday at 7 a.m. at the University of Virginia's Lannigan Field.
Anyone interested can still register until 7 p.m. tonight at ACAC or before training starts on Saturday mornings.
