Albemarle County Man Pleads Guilty to Soliciting a Minor
An Albemarle County man avoided a trial Wednesday and admitted to soliciting a minor online. Matthew Musselwhite, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of soliciting a minor online in Albemarle County Circuit Court.
Musselwhite responded to a craigslist ad that was put up by police with the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Investigators say Musselwhite believed he was chatting with a 13-year-old girl. They arrested him when he attempted to meet her at a park in Charlottesville.
Musselwhite is out on bond, but must follow rules similar to probation and cannot have a computer at his residence.
He will be sentenced November 6. He could face up to 10 years in prison and $2,500 fine.
