Redskins Minicamp Begins; RG3 on Pace to Be Ready for Season Opener
The Redskins kicked off a three-day minicamp at Redskins Park Tuesday
Quarterback Robert Griffin III began practice today spending time with a child from the Make-A-Wish program, whos wish was to meet the Redskins quarterback.
The brace on RG3's surgically repaired knee appears less cumbersome than the one he was wearing last month. Griffin III says the knee feels better each week and he's on track to be ready for the season opener.
Griffin III says, "You saw today the explosive sprinting part, I feel comfortable sprinting now. The next big stage is cutting."
Redskins running back Alfred Morris says, "He looks great, I'm not surprised though, even when the injury happened... He's going to come back strong, he's going to be ready for the season, he's definitely on track to play in week one."
After this week's minicamp the Redskins will be off for the next month. Robert Griffin III is getting married in July.
Griffin III says, "She'll set everything up and than ask me like this or that and sometimes I actually have a choice and sometimes it doesn't really matter what I say... I mean I'm just trying to make sure she doesn't become a bridezilla."
RG3 says he'll stay in shape during the break and he's pretty confidenct he'll be ready for training camp which moves to richmond this year.
Its going to be exciting, it's the first time we're going to be away from Ashburn, its going to be exciting, I know the fans out there in Richmond are excited for us to come and we're very excited for a new change in scenary and I can't wait.
Former Virginia star Chase Minnifield is also bouncing back from off-season knee surgery. He intercepted a pass in practice on Tuesday.. His story tomorrow on NBC29 at 6pm
