The Charlottesville Track Club presented a $64,000 check to the Senior Center Tuesday.
The proceeds come from the club's 'Charlottesville Ten Miler' race. The race raises funds for nonprofit organizations every year.
Peter Thompson, the executive director of the Senior Center, says the center is aligned with the track club because both promote healthy living.
"We are very excited to be receiving the proceeds from the 2013 Charlottesville Ten Miler and to be the Ten Miler beneficiary," he stated.
The donation will fund the Senior Center's life-long learning, exercise and other holistic programs.
