Art Fair Held in New Charlottesville Community Space
BON is located on 100 W.South Street.
A new place has opened in downtown Charlottesville, with practically nothing in it.
BON is a community space that has just opened on South Street, across from where the Charlottesville City Market is held on Saturdays. It used to be Milano Cafe, before becoming a drum store. Now it's a cafe and an open room for concerts, art workshops, public events and private parties.
Friday, an art fair will help kick off the grand opening.
"We want people to live peaceful and respectful of each other and we thing art is a really good way to do it," said BON art coordinator Chi Cho Lorenzo.
The owners hope BON will become a community space where several artists will set up shop.
The art fair will feature jewelry, paintings, blown glass, and leather work, as well as food and music. It takes place Friday night from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
