Greene County Prepares for Mid-Atlantic Power Festival
People in Greene County are gearing up for this year's Mid-Atlantic Power Festival, also known as MAPFEST.
On Saturday, organizers say this field off Route 33 will be packed with thousands of people. The festival has family-fun activities including six nights of motorsports events, a truck and tractor pull and an autocross derby.
The event is also meant as a way to highlight breast cancer awareness.
"The MAPFEST team, they make sure to have some type of presence of the National Cancer Society either giving out the ribbons or having a booth there of those individuals passing out information about breast cancer," said Tony Williams director of Greene County Economic Development.
In 2010, almost 15,000 people attended MAPFEST.
