A Crimora man, who is linked to several other cases, is now charged with attempted murder after investigators say he strangled his live-in girlfriend.
Charles Spencer, 66, faces a second degree attempted murder charge and unlawfully applying pressure to the neck. Investigators say he nearly killed his live-in girlfriend.
Officers say Spencer could also face gun and drug charges after a search warrant was executed at his home.
This is the same Charles Spencer who was a suspect in his wife's murder. Joann Spencer's body was found six weeks after she first went missing in December of 2003. No arrests were ever made in the case.
Another woman who also lived with Spencer - Margaret White - went missing in 2008. Investigators say she has yet to be found.
Spencer is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
