Symposium Prepares Businesses for Affordable Care Act Changes
The time is approaching when businesses will need to comply with the changing health care system.
A symposium in Staunton Wednesday, held by Farmers & Merchants Bank and Bankers Insurance, LLC, aimed to help businesses understand what they have to do when it comes to the Affordable Care Act.
According to Daryl Russell, a health insurance benefits consultant, the changes affect all businesses - big and small - but in different ways.
"The big changes take place in 2014 because that's when large employers will be required to pay or play under the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, and the individual insurance exchanges as well as the small business insurance exchanges will be established," Russell said.
Health care symposiums are set for June 26 at the Spotswood Country Club and July 24 at the Hampton Inn in Woodstock. They are open to the public.
