A man charged following an assault in Charlottesville and a standoff in Fluvanna County is facing fewer charges.
James Lewis Kardos, 23, still faces a number of charges in Charlottesville including child endangerment and malicious wounding after police say he assaulted his girlfriend in February. Following the assault, Kardos was in a nine-hour standoff with police at a Lake Monticello home.
He now only faces one charge – unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon - for that in Fluvanna County; the others were dropped Tuesday.
