The Charlottesville Albemarle Kennel Club Hosts 61st Dog Show
More than 700 dogs participated.
Dogs of all breeds strutted their stuff in Albemarle County this weekend to try and take home a grand prize.
The Charlottesville Albemarle Kennel Club hosted its 61st dog show at the Foxfield Race Track Sunday.
More than 700 pups showed off their skills in the competition. Judges ranked the dogs based on breed. The winners moved on to larger group events.
Organizers say there is always room in the show for more entries.
"We'd like to see it grow even more because with more entries we can do more things with our community work and we love when the public comes out to support us, we couldn't do it without the public," said Deborah Burgess, dog show chair.
The kennel club was also collecting donations this year to help the Charlottesville Police Department get a new K-9 officer.
