Albemarle Craft Fair Helping Central Virginians in Need
Twenty-five vendors sold their creations at Monticello Wesleyan Church.
An Albemarle County craft fair raised money to help people in need in central Virginia and beyond on Saturday.
Twenty-five vendors sold their creations at Monticello Wesleyan Church in Earlysville to support the church's annual clothing drive, Thanksgiving dinner and mission trips.
Members of the congregation travel to Guatemala for two projects they call "Happy Feet" and "Happy Tummies."
"We take 700 plus shoes to Guatemala and we give shoes to kids and men and women that only get shoes once year and ‘Happy Tummies' is for the orphanage over there - we take things that they don't get over there like peanut butter and jelly and marshmallows," said coordinator Marcie Johnson.
Craft fair organizers say Saturday's large turnout was exciting for a congregation of only 50 people.
