Meadowbrook Shopping Centre
has scrapped half of its preliminary construction plan.
Valerie Long, an attorney
representing developer Pinnacle construction, says concerns expressed by
neighbors lead Pinnacle and owner Clara Belle Wheeler to scale back.
Preliminary plans included
redeveloping the shopping center into a residential structure with commercial
space on the first floor. Now there will be no change to the center.
The only plan going
forward is to construct a separate five-story residential building next door.
Long says the scaled-back
version requires no special use permit.
