Hokie Hot Streak Ends With 4-1 ACC Championship Loss to UNC

Posted: Updated:

The Virginia Tech baseball team's hot streak came to an end Sunday as the Hokies fell 4-1 to UNC in the ACC Championship at Durham Balls Athletic Park.

Virginia Tech's Eddie Campbell worked the mound for seven innings and had two strikeouts.

The Hokies' only run came in the 6th inning when they were trailing 2-0.

Chad Morgan hit a grounder to North Carolina's shortstop Michael Russell.

Russell helped execute a Tar Heel double play at second and first base, but Tyler Horan was still able to run across home plate.

The Hokies' now await their seeding in the NCAA tournament, which will be announced Monday.

Regional sites will be announced by 9 p.m. Sunday, May 26.
