Albemarle Democrats Nominate Board of Supervisors Candidates

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA: The Albemarle County Democratic Committee nominated Liz Palmer and Brad Sheffield for the Board of Supervisors on Monday night at their nominating caucus.
Dr. Liz Palmer is a veterinarian and small business owner who has served on the Albemarle County Service Authority. She was nominated for the Samuel Miller District seat. "We need open, transparent government with effective citizen participation and long-range planning," said Palmer.
Brad Sheffield has 14 years of experience in transportation and planning and currently serves as the Assistant Director of JAUNT, Inc., a regional transportation provider. "It's important that we make decisions that are consistent with the plans we create and ensure our communities quality, value and stability. I'm looking forward to meeting with neighbors in the Rio district to hear there concerns and share my thoughts on we can make better decisions at the local level," said Sheffield.
"We have two great candidates for Board of Supervisors this year who bring a wealth of experience. We look forward to working to returning effective, pragmatic, and responsive Supervisors to the Board, from the Rio and Samuel Miller Districts" said Richard Brewer, Chair of the Albemarle County Democratic Committee.

Clawson led Bowling Green to a 10-3 record this season and a Mid-American Conference Championship. He was the head coach at Richmond from 2004-2007 and replaces UVa alum Jim Grobe at Wake who resigned after 13 years last week.Full Story
