Waynesboro Teacher is Today Show's Fourth Hour Fan of the Week
The Fourth Hour segment of the Today Show is sending a Waynesboro teacher on a five-star trip.
Barbara Maher teaches foreign language at Kate Collins Middle School. She was in class Monday when Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb called to tell her she is the show's Fan of the Week.
That title comes with a trip to Athens, Greece. Maher hopes to schedule it so her husband and four kids can go along - and she'll share the experience with her students at Kate Collins.
"The support I get from my family helps me do the job I do here each and every day - because it's long hours and to be able to do what I do. These children in this school are like my own children. I treat them the same and put lots of hours and time into it," said Maher.
Maher DVRs the Fourth Hour - which airs at 11 a.m. - while she's teaching.
