Waynesboro Police Department MEDIA RELEASE
The Waynesboro Police Department has charged a Waynesboro couple on multiple drug charges stemming from two separate incidents that occurred in February.
Sherman Charles Layne, 35 years old, and Melissa Jean Loucks, 36 years old, each face three felony charges. One charge, distribution of a Schedule I or II drug, namely hydromorphone, stems from an incident on February 1 in which they sold the drug to a Waynesboro man.
They also face charges for possession of methamphetamine and possession of hydromorphone which stem from a search warrant served on February 17 at a location on W Main St.
On May 17, officers arrested Loucks at a residence in the 800 block of Washington Ave. Deputies from the Augusta County Sheriff's Office arrested Layne on May 18.
Layne is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail. Loucks was released on a $3000 bond.
